The short version

Patheo is an account-based app. Your data — resume, job applications, profile — is stored securely in your account so you can access it from any device. AI features run through our own servers; we never share your content with third parties or use it to train models.

We don't sell your data. We don't run third-party ad trackers. This policy exists to be honest about exactly what we do store and why.

What Patheo stores — and where

When you create an account, the following is stored securely in your Patheo account:

  • Account info — your email address and account type
  • Profile & CV data — your name, career history, education, skills, and generated resume content
  • Job applications — job titles, companies, status, notes, and imported job descriptions
  • AI-generated content — saved resumes, cover letters, skills gap analyses, and answer bank entries
  • App settings and preferences

Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored on secure servers. You can export or delete it at any time from your account settings.

Email collection & waitlist

When you sign up, we collect your email address to authenticate your account and communicate with you about the service.

If founding member spots are full, you may join our waitlist. Here's how we handle that:

  • Your email is stored securely solely to notify you when new spots open
  • We will only email you about Patheo availability updates — never spam, never sold
  • You can request removal from the waitlist at any time by emailing us
  • Waitlist emails are not shared with any third party

Support tickets & feedback

When you submit a message through our support form, we collect and store the following to help resolve your issue:

  • Your email and name — so we can respond to you
  • Message type, subject, and body — the content of your request
  • Your current plan — to understand your account context
  • Basic browser info — to help diagnose technical issues

Support messages are visible only to the Patheo team and used exclusively to address your request. We never share support content externally.

Analytics & usage data

To understand how Patheo is used and improve the product, we may collect aggregated, non-identifying usage data such as:

  • Feature usage counts (resumes generated, interview sessions started, etc.)
  • Plan distribution and subscription activity
  • General engagement patterns (pages visited, session frequency)

This data is used internally to guide product decisions. It is never tied to your personal identity, never sold, and never shared with advertising platforms. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any third-party tracking scripts.

How AI features work

When you use an AI feature, your content is sent to our secure server, which calls the AI on your behalf and returns the result. This means:

  • You never need your own API keys
  • Your resume and job description content passes through our server to reach the AI
  • We do not log, store, or review the content of these requests beyond what is needed to return the result
  • Your content is never used to train AI models

AI is powered by Claude from Anthropic.

Voice & microphone

The interview coach uses your microphone for speech input. Here's exactly what happens:

  • Microphone access is only requested when you start a voice session
  • Speech is transcribed locally in your browser using the Web Speech API — audio is not sent to Patheo
  • On Power plan, AI voice responses are generated through our server — no audio is stored
  • No audio files are saved anywhere, locally or remotely

Patheo never stores recordings of your voice. Audio processing happens in real time and is discarded immediately.

No ad tracking or data selling

Patheo does not use third-party advertising trackers, does not sell your data, and does not share your personal information with data brokers.

The only third-party services that receive any of your data are Supabase (secure database and authentication) and Stripe (payment processing). Both are industry-standard, privacy-compliant providers.

Cookies & sessions

Patheo uses a small number of cookies and browser storage mechanisms to keep you logged in and remember your preferences:

  • Auth session — a secure session token to keep you signed in across visits
  • Theme preference — stored locally so your display settings persist

There are no advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party cookies set by Patheo.

Payments

Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe, a trusted third-party payment processor. Patheo never sees or stores your full card number. Stripe handles all payment data in compliance with PCI-DSS.

Your rights & data control

You have full control over your data:

  • Export — download your profile, jobs, and CV from Settings at any time
  • Delete your account — contact us and we'll permanently delete all data within 30 days
  • Cancel any time — no contracts; cancel from your account settings
  • Waitlist removal — email us to be removed from the waitlist at any time

If you are in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Children's privacy

Patheo is intended for users 16 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we'll remove it promptly.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top and notify you through the app where appropriate. Continued use of Patheo after changes means you accept the updated policy.

We'll always keep this page straightforward and human-readable.
